Authenticity of our Products
All Australian Aboriginal art, whether on didgeridoos, boomerangs or canvas is wholly the work of Australian Aboriginal people, and we go to great lengths to ensure that level of authenticity. If you purchase an item from Tjapukai that is made by Aboriginal people, you can be sure that it is exactly what it claims to be. Where Aboriginal art is reproduced, we make sure the artist is paid royalties for their art to be copied, and that they are treated ethically by the manufacturers we deal with.
We require that our suppliers provide us with Wholesalers Declarations listing who their Aboriginal Artists are as well as providing the Individual Aboriginal Artist Declarations for the artists that they deal with before we consider stocking the items.
We also deal with some of the local Aboriginal Artists and Craftspeople direct and again they are required to fill one of these forms out for us before we will stock the items.
As the Tjapukai Gallery is part of the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, every cent you spend with us is benefiting Aboriginal people. If you would like to know more about our Authenticity Policy then please contact us - retail@tjapukai.com.au . |
